🌍 Climate Change: Our Collective Responsibility

This blog is not about my profession—it’s about the planet we live on.

Back in school, we studied Climate Change and Global Warming, but rarely gave them serious thought. Today, their impact is undeniable. Rising temperatures and frequent heatwaves have become common. More alarming are events such as floods in North India, forest fires in California, and earthquakes in the Middle East.

These are not coincidences — they stem from human-driven activities like vehicular emissions that add greenhouse gases, industrialization that releases pollutants at scale, and urbanization that causes deforestation and higher energy use. Together, they amplify global warming and intensify natural disasters.

🌱 What Governments Are Doing

Some positive steps I see around us include:

• Investments in green energy (solar, wind, etc.)
• Boosting the use of electric vehicles and buses
• Infrastructure for cycle rentals in Delhi
• Introduction of E20 petrol (20% ethanol, 80% petrol)

🚶 What We Can Do as Individuals

But government action alone is not enough. Each of us can make a difference by:

• Using public transport, carpooling, or cabs instead of always relying on personal vehicles
• Adopting cycles and EVs where possible
• Saving energy by switching off lights and appliances when not needed
• Using less paper and going digital
• Repurposing old clothes instead of discarding them
• Buying only what we truly need, since every product consumes raw materials and energy

🌏 A Shared Future

Climate change is not a distant threat—it is already here. If we want future generations to inherit a healthy planet, sustainability must become part of our daily lives.

Let’s act today to build a cleaner, greener, and safer tomorrow.
